Counselling / Therapy

Have you ever wanted to talk about something that was troubling you, but were unsure of whom to speak with? Sometimes, it can be beneficial to talk through issues with someone who is completely unconnected to any of our family or friends. As a therapist, I can assist you in exploring your problems or concerns within a completely safe, non-judgemental and confidential space.

I have trained as an integrative counsellor, which means I use a range of different models for counselling depending on the client and their needs including CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). I see clients for both long and short-term work.

BACKGROUND

I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist working in private practice. In the past I have managed a frontline counselling service and casework advocates supporting survivors of abuse and violence and have a background in policy development, commissioning of services, management consultancy and training.  I have extensive experience of working with a range of diverse communities from varying backgrounds.

My areas of interest are issues of: abuse, bullying/harassment, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, identity and relationships. I hold a current DBS – Disclosure Barring Service clearance formerly known as CRB (Criminal Records Board).

QUALITIES

I am compassionate and committed to helping clients find a way of being able to resolve their dilemmas or problems. The path to a greater awareness of both ourselves and those around us is helped by reflection and being able to voice our inner thoughts – such as desires and fears to someone who will not judge. My aim is to listen & understand, challenge when necessary and assist the healing process within a completely confidential, safe and respectful space.
